Diabetes Program
TriHealth, a Cincinnati network of hospitals, continues to support the clinic, providing diabetes education, materials, and supplies. The next education workshop and services are planned for October when Dr. Collins, endocrinologist, and Cheryl Angel, diabetic educator, will travel to Guatemala to participate in this valuable service. Since receiving TriHealth’s support, the clinic has identified more than 75 new diabetics. Our diabetic club, Living With Diabetes, provides monthly educational meetings, individual education, and support.

St. Vincent Ferrer School, Cincinnati, Ohio
Third graders welcomed Sister Sarah with school supplies and a donation for the Guatemalan children at a picnic June 2. To increase their funds for collecting the school supplies, they had organized a bake sale. The children themselves came up with the idea to help a missionary when they learned abut mission countries during a retreat day. Third grade teacher Beth Scholl and religious education director Karen McMichael supported the children with the project. Parents, teachers, and principal joined in the festive celebration.

St. Ignatius Parish, Cincinnati, Ohio
Richard Middendorf and Chip Branscum, both board members of Mission Partners Guatemala, organized a reception for Sister Sarah Sunday, June 1, at St. Ignatius Church. Many who have traveled to the Guatemalan mission had this opportunity to share their experiences and to chat with Sister Sarah. Some who attended are interested in joining the mission board of St. Ignatius Church. We look forward to many more gatherings.
